    <p>The author's middle name is not 'Marie', but 'Mary'. Her full name was Anne Mary Hodges (n&eacute;e Carr). She was born on 9 June 1763 to Elizabeth and Benjamin Carr. She married the artist William Hodges, RA (1745-1797) on 1 December 1797. William died on 6 March 1797 and Ann died at Tunbridge Wells in May 1797. Ann and William had five children. She was also survived by her brother John (late Sir John) who was a popular author of travel books. If I find out anything more that might be useful I will let you know!</p>
