"Rosamond, when we last saw her, in the days of 'The black bonnet,' 'The India cabinet,' and 'The microscope,' was about nine or ten years old. This sequel to her history comprises about three years, from ten to thirteen. Her biographer mentions this to prevent mistakes, and the ensure the advice, the entreaty, that this book may not be read at an earlier age."--To parents, v. 3, p. [3]-4, dated January 1821 and signed: M.E. [i.e., Maria Edgeworth].
Cover bears imprint address of 128 Washington St., Boston. Munroe and Francis began publishing at 128 Washington St. in 1824 or 1825. The address changes to Devonshire St. in the Boston directory for 1841.
