But now: O strange reverse! our Critics bawl In praise of Candor with a heart of gall; Conscious of guilt, and fearful of the light, They lurk enshrouded in the veil of night: Safe from detraction seize the unwary prey, And stab, like [?], all who come that way! - Churchill's Apology. In conformity to the act of the Congress of the United States, entitled " An act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of Maps, Charts, and Books, to the author or proprietors of such Copies, during the time therein mentioned.
