This is not the poem published under title "My brother" in Mary Elliott's Grateful tributes (1819). The present text is designated as an "uncertain ascription to Mary Elliott" by Elliott's bibliographer Marjorie Moon.
Cover imprint varies: New-York: Published by Samuel Wood & Sons, no. 261, Pearl-Street; and Samuel S. Wood & Co. no. 212, Market-St. Baltimore.
Samuel Wood & Sons was located at 357 Pearl St., New York between 1814 and 1816; the firm was subsequently located at 261 Pearl St., New York, between 1817 and 1836. Samuel S. Wood & Co. was located at 212 Market St., Baltimore, between 1814 and at least 1824; a Baltimore directory for 1825 has not been located. Samuel S. Wood had relocated to New York by 1826.
